I am hopeful this year’s political shift will help on a country-wide level, though I fear for the state of California, which recently cut back even further on Medi-Cal services. In the meantime, all I can offer is take deep breaths, take walks, take a moment to scrawl your feelings out in a journal. Put the anger elsewhere or find a place to let it dissipate before it hits the family. More next month.

Wow! I think I’ll go slit my wrists after reading that uplifting article.
Really! Things aren’t near as bad as they could be. Imagine life during the great depression of the 30’s and then be grateful for what you have. Maybe you can’t run down and get a pizza, but at least you don’t have to split wood to start a fire to bake one, nor do you have to milk your cow for milk and churn your own butter. You may not have money for a Disney trip, but you’ve got a beautiful vacation land right outside your door. Lean times should teach us to appreciate what we have and to be resourceful, not whine and moan about not being able to grab a pizza or skip a vacation. How spoiled we’ve become.
