MATEEL COMMUNITY CENTER*Description:* Summer restaurant skills internship program. Learn art of food preparation & presentation in this five-week program. Upscale BBQ Gala at program end.
Ages: 16-21.
When: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Thurs. June 23-July 24.
Where: Register at South Fork High School Career Center. Intern at Mateel Community Center.
Cost: Paid internship.

SALVATION ARMY YOUTH DAY CAMP*Description:* Eight-week camp offering weekly themes, games, crafts, Bible stories, & field trips. Meals provided. Sign up early, only space for 50.
Ages: 6-12.
When: 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. June 16-Aug. 15.
Where: Salvation Army, 2123 Tydd St., Eureka.
Cost: $50 per week. Some scholarships available.

ST. MARY’S SUMMER ELEMENT PROGRAM*Description:* Students will spend the mornings on academic subjects. Weekly themes will guide students through hands-on, explorative programs, designed to encourage cognitive, emotional, social and kinetic development. Computer keyboarding available for credit (grades 4-8) for additional cost.
Ages: Grades 1-8.
When: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (extended care possible), Mon.-Fri. June 16-Aug. 22.
Where: St. Mary’s Catholic School, 1730 Janes Road, Arcata.
Cost: $110 per week/$75 half-day per week; $25 per day/$15 half-day.
