Alexander Murphy will present “Understanding the Changing Planet: Geography’s Role in Addressing Environmental Challenges in the 21st Century.”
Murphy is professor of geography at the University of Oregon. Murphy is senior vice president of the American Geographical Society. He recently chaired the National Academy of Sciences – Research Council Committee charged with identifying “Strategic Directions for the Geographical Sciences.”
The speaker series is presented by the Environment & Community Graduate Program and the Schatz Energy Research Center.
