Humboldt Spring: A Poem

timid leaf,

bright

yellow flower,

purple African parade proudly

displayed

eighty Saturday degrees

unmade,

this morning.

Advance.

Retreat.

The Humboldt winter

a spring waiting

soft and still

the patient rainfall

sounds

I am undone.

Perhaps tomorrow.
