Fortuna Greenway and Trail Week

Events will kick off with field trips to the CCC Campus on Oct. 14 to view the Strongs Creek box culvert under US 101 and discuss alternate routes, and Redwood Memorial Hospital on Oct. 15 to view the proposed trail crossing at Redwood Way. Light refreshments will be provided.

A second Field Trip will be conducted Tuesday, October 15 (10:00 am – 11:00 am) meet in the rear parking lot of Redwood Memorial Hospital to view the proposed trail crossing at Redwood Way. This site visit will focus on safe trail crossings and how to utilize City-owned property at this location.

A community workshop will be held at the Fortuna River Lodge on Oct. 15 from 6-9pm. Students from Fortuna High School will display projects on Fortuna Creeks and Green Technology. Free food will be provided by the Fortuna Dutch Oven Society. Participants will have a chance to become “community designers."

On Oct.16 from, 5-6pm, community members are encouraged to drop by the open studio at the CCC Campus, see the design in progress and talk with the design team. Community input from these sessions will be incorporated into the final plan.

On Friday, Oct. 18, from 5-7:30pm, the design team will deliver a presentation of preliminary designs and concepts at the Monday Club. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by the Fortuna High School Culinary Arts Program.
