I find myself surprised to be in agreement with Mr. Uri Driscoll, ("Mailbox," Nov. 13). As a long standing member of the Friends of the Dunes, I often stand at opposite ends with him on the subject of dune habitat use and maintenance.
Having said that, I would stand side by side with Mr. Driscoll to promote his idea to develop the Dog Ranch property into a transition ranch for returning veterans. Their presence, awareness and trail maintenance would change that beautiful piece of coastal dune habitat from a dangerous homeless ghetto into public space to be enjoyed by all.
