When: Sat., Sept. 3, 6-9 p.m. 2016
Price: Free
Cars, Culture and Humboldt County in the 1950s, curated by our director Benjamin Brown, and co-curated by Bill Morrill and Jack Moore. Sponsored by AAA, this exhibit examines the cultural impact the automobile had on Humboldt County in the 1950s. From car clubs to hard top racing, women’s fashion to artwork, this exhibit illustrates how the car helped reshape life in America. This exhibit includes not only memorabilia from our collection, but also items loaned by Carl Schneider, Leon Warmuth, John Peterson, Arlene Hartin, and original artwork by Frank Speck. The grand opening of the exhibit will be at September's Arts Alive, put on by Eureka Main Street from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, 3 September. It will continue until January 2017.
