Hooray for Amy Stewart's "Etter Bomb" (Nov. 10)! It was just last night we were sipping apple brandy with our neighbor and wondering what kind of apple concoction to serve for the winter solstice. Problem solved! Thank you, Amy, for the great suggestions and enthusiastic article! We are kindred spirits! It is odd that Humboldt has so many breweries, all of which import barley and hops, yet we have an amazing variety of apples and there are no cider houses. This will change. We are backyard cider makers, and I can tell you there is a revolution afoot! The homebrew section at the Co-op can't keep up with the yeast demand. This is good! Happy harvest!  May your apples hang long and your overs hang not! Bombs away!!!
