A Sneak of Weasels

Pop!
Goes the
Box of weasels

Such a surprise
On a Wednesday;
Arriving in the mail

Wet tail
Swishing
A grand glistening
Shine of
River water

The knowing way
Of these weasels
Grown bold

Their grasping
Clasping, claws

Held to no known
Laws

(Even, against the disapproving
postmasters --
the mistresses too)

Daring to mail themselves
To unsuspecting strangers
This creates an unexpected, uneasy
Endearment

Affection gained
By daring, intelligence
And wit...
