Re: “Fur Real

It a well written article, it dares to cover more than most would. I have been a furry for 42 years before it had a following. It is sad that many groups get a shadow following them, tainting everything they do. Shriner conventions are tainted by sexual, comment and yet shrine hospital has saved thousands of lives, of children, from newborn to (17 years +364 days old), without 1 penny being spent by the family or social services. Using sex in the media sells, time slots, commercials, products, and even used as a weapon, to degrade or attack others, by threatening to say something that is fictional or a outlandish lie. A quote from an infamous person in history,"Tell a big enough lie long enough, and it becomes the truth". What should be said, it is believed to be the truth.I have been married to my Wife, a very sweet and loving woman for over 31 years, and also a furry. The sex part is not the norm, but the stray part of fury fandom, yes you may see books or pictures that are anything but G rated, but look again, is there a price tag, oh yes, as sex sells or attracts the eyes, its that, train wreck you can't stop watching. Sadly there are many that hide, their feelings, and instead drink to a point of suppressing their emotions. After a hard day at work, firing someone ,or making $20,000 to $1.2 million dollar decisions, I would put on the fursuit and go have fun acting comically with friends, and playing, venting the pressures of the day or week. I have talked to others who were not furry, and asked them to try and vent, instead of suppressing their life and feelings with drink or pills. To put it plainly, I have seen many who find, that is the reason they were pulled into furry fandom, at first, everything else is just," icing on the cake." to paraphrase; To some it is tempting to others to much, and to all a very, very, very, small part of what most of us truly enjoy, being a furry without the sexual part even being there.
