Journalism probably does teach that. Sadly, I don't even consider myself a journalist but rather a music fan who sometimes forgets when to use a comma and a semicolon. To your point however, I wasn't made aware what "BPBS" stood for either until just recently and that is "Beast, Please Be Still" which I'm told by the organizer is a name of a Datura Blues song if memory serves correct.
I only hope the NCJ (North Coast Journal) doesn't consider me a journalist either, otherwise my time at this publication will probably be brief :)
