Sorry for sounding so angry about this article, but I get so discouraged by the big guy running all over the hard working honest small businessman. It just seems to be the norm these days. The almighty dollar has replace honor, integrity, understanding. No wonder so many of our youth are losing those important values we were raise to believe were the right thing to live by. Looks like eating healthy doesn't mean living healthy spiritually.

NCJ - why didn't you guys even investigate how this new BIG BOX style project will effect Mack Town or it's existing businesses. Is it a different story or something...? I don't think so...!!!! If you want us to continue reading your rag, do some REAL research and reporting.... shees!

Local Big Box Store ALERT!!!! Looks like the big box style Eureka Natural Foods is looking at stomping the little guy eh?!?!?! Well let me tell you... I for one will not step foot in either of their stores if they build one in Mack Town. We used to have several little Mom and Pop stores here when I was growing up. Evan and Megan's little store has provided, not only a quality source for all my organic food needs, but also a warm friendly place reminiscent of those Mom and Pop shops. Those two have grown their business with lots of hard work, the most friendly attitude I have seen, and the willingness to go the distance to find what you need if they do not already carry it. And where else can you find the store owner's little boy playing with his dinosaurs in the back, or doing his homework while Mom and Dad are busy helping customers..?
Another aspect of this wonderful little market, is just that... it's a little market. You can park right in front, take five steps from you car and be in the store. Another 30 feet and you are in the back of the store where the milk is. This is not the convenience you find in those big box endless isles you find in Eureka. I'm disabled and it's all I can do sometimes to get into stores like Rays, Safeway, Eureka Natural Foods, The Co-op, etc, and get out without nearly falling flat from pain. Evan and Megan's little shop is an easy in and out for whatever I need, and they'll even carry the stuff out to my car for me.
When I saw this article I went down to the store to pick up my regular special order of Dry Cucumber Soda (that I cannot find in any other organic store). As Evan checked me out, I asked about the article and asked if he'd talked to the Eureka N F folks. He said he did and even offered to let them buy him out, inventory and all, and suggested letting him and Megan work at the new big box store (for 6 months) to welcome their faithful customers, letting them know everything will be alright. They told him to take a hike~~~~ Now Evan and Megan are very nice, personable people, and if the tables were turned, you can bet that they would have made that deal with an open heart. This is why I will never spend another dime in ENF... ASSHOLES...
