Re: “EPD Chief Mills Accepts Post in Santa Cruz

I don't agree with your comment about "transients" being swept under the rug. Betty Chin has done somuch for them and continues to do so every day. Some have been very appreciative of her help and support but others wish to be on their own and live the way they feel comfortable. You can't help those who don't want to change.

Re: “EPD Chief Mills Accepts Post in Santa Cruz

Chief Mills has done so much to help this community since he has been here. When we moved here six years ago I was upset by seeing transients all over the place, at malls, streets corners and even in parking lots asking for money. Chief Mills has cleaned up this place to make it more visitor-friendly and insure our safety when we are out and about walking or just running errands. He has done an amazing job and I am so sad to see him leave, but I know it is in his and his family's best interest.

Re: “A Dangerous Playground

All I can say is the verdict is so ridiculous. What was she thinking by showing some homeless people where they can live when the City of Eureka is trying to clean that area up? She was where she should NOT have been and doing something she shouldn't be doing. She was definitely at fault and the City of Eureka should not be paying for her stupidity. It's always about helping the homeless. What about those people who work hard every day to make a living, raise a family and work pay check to pay check. They don't give up, they are proud people who want to do it on their own. Who helps them???

Re: “Menu of Menus 2014

Where can you get the copies of "Menu of Menus"? I've checked the locations where the Journal is available, but cannot locate it.
