Re: “Grand Jury: No 'Silver Bullet' to Solving Homeless, Offers Strategies

When the exemption from permitting is raised to 800 interior square feet in rural areas, your rural cousins will build cabins for half of those in need of housing. The other half should be provided apartments in modest sized 3 and 4 unit buildings in the greater metropolises of Humboldt.
Oddly, our planners and supervisors do not yet feel compelled to act.

Re: “Busted

Can someone explain to me how County Tax Revenue more than doubled from $12 million to $26 million between 2005 and 2006?
And now, is the "good" number that County Tax will exceed $40 million this year? And if so, how is that?

Re: “Caltrans and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

i read the full report available here:

i am happy to be mentioned as one who was interviewed and i am gratified that this study will be the catalyst for major change, as much change as we have courage to implement.

Re: “Jason Singleton Strikes Again

Actually, you must simply file a complaint with the California Bar Association. Bring him before the bar, his days of wine, planes and roses will come to an end.

Re: “The County's Guiding Principles in Time-Lapse

Oh thank God for the new Principle #8:
Adhere to practical strategies that can be implemented utilizing constructive cooperation and common sense.
So happy to see "common sense" added to our Guiding Principles. Homage to Thomas Paine, a trickle of light in the darkness of "Us vs. Them".
Meanwhile, why can't we just say the war is over. We know how to forgive. We know how to apologize. We have so much work to do. Cheers for cooperation and common sense.
