Nice article, but I'm prejudiced. Loleta is my hometown and my Mother's place of birth. My Father moved to Loleta in 1928 as his Grandmother married the butcher. That's how he got the nickname Butch which he lived with until he passed last September. As a teenager I worked for Louie Biondini, who owned the Meat Market at that time. I was not the only teenager that spent their high school years working for the family. Some change in a community is a good thing but I think the Van der Zee's are quickly ruining their welcome.
*as a note of contention I believe they are violating the ADA by blocking the sidewalk. I am in a wheel chair and there is no way I could get from thee Post Office to the Meat Market without asking their patrons and tables to move
