Hey David Bergin...19,000 hits on the impact of cutting redwood roots and what's the consensus? I notice you didn't include that, but I'd be glad to tell you what the majority of research has concluded when you're done reading those 19,000 links. Don't be naive; it's much more than just soil deposition. Did you read what placing a concrete oven above the soil around roots would do? Mentioning hits to your girlfriend's article doesn't demonstrate anything except your pride in her...good for you both.
Ironically, Cypress Grove's Humboldt Fog is named such because it used to be foggy almost year round here, a climate redwoods rely on. Google that. Further damage would be bad, period. I see no disrespect to Cypress Grove, they make good eats. And again with the grumbling about growers crap. Separate issue.
