Re: “Good Cops Aren't Afraid of Cameras

Firing this officer is not enough. He should do time. An example must be made. Remove Murl Harpham IMMEDIATELY.

Re: “Eureka Resolves to Reaffirm Commitment to Create Jobs

There isn't anything "polarizing" about Karen Brooks's Tea Party politics

Ryan,

How about just for the reason of being respectful to others?

Or did that go by the wayside over at the Journal as well?

Re: “The Brand

hey, I don't know of any "battle raging"... everyone seems quite content claiming their own and not disputing any one else's version. "It’s all about the brand. Humboldt. And there’s a battle raging, brand warfare over what that word represents and how it’s spun in the world beyond the Redwood Curtain" And isn't the term "Redwood Curtain" a little outdated? The cold war ended more than 20 years ago! We don't live behind a "curtain" any more! Thanks for letting us know what entertainment's going on around here, though. :)

Re: “Happyland

The County has used grant funding for the Humboldt Made project, and being the County they walk a fine line when it comes to marijuana. I think everyone in a regional economic development position is well aware of the very significant impact that marijuana has had on the regional economy. Though, it is a difficult position to be in, when you are using grant funds to promote the regional economy and can not promote illegal activities. I appreciate the efforts of the County and the visitors bureau, because they are operating "within the lines", while the general populace has the freedom to operate "outside the lines" with whatever level of legality we so choose.

Re: “Happyland

Hooked on Humboldt promotes the drug culture, and makes us all look like addicts, was the idea.
