I love the Beloved Bean Bowl! Right re the DIY thing -- It's hard to have a little bit of fresh mango, and a fresh green salsa on hand at home, for example. Yay Beachcomber!
I'm really really apprehensive after reading this article, regarding providers not taking Covered Ca. plans. Before ACA, I was paying $330/mo for individual coverage. I signed-up with Anthem under CC, with a subsidy, but now it looks like I may need to pay about $600/mo (i.e. similar plan but not under C.C.) if I want access to providers other than Open Door system!?!? Help!
Before the Clarke Museum was modernized, it was a wonderful, dusty hodge-podge of old stuff, including the big taxidermy collection of birds. When I first visited it in the 70's, I was stunned to see a condor in a glass case up high on the wall. Actually, it was the label that stunned me: "shot near Alderpoint, 1906" or something like that. Having hung-out on the Eel River on several canoe trips, I was, and still am, fascinated by the image of condors cruising the hills. An article on the history of condors in HumCo would be great!
