A history lesson for vegandog.
The Nazis were Nazis before they began making war on other nations or committing genocide. Long before any of that, the got their start by committing acts of thuggery, like the AEDC did yesterday. But they were still called Nazis.
If the people at AEDC don't want to be compared to Nazis they shouldn't act like Nazis.
Wow. Fourth week in a row the quality of cough editing has been going downhill at the NCJ. Hank, oh Hank, where art thou?
now if only the Sub could start doing this. It's really sad to see their stories and photos credited with "Associated Press" half the time. We never really know who wrote their stories or took their pictures. Maybe that's the goal, to mislead us so much that we don't care anymore where the news came from. Maybe a reporter in Bangladesh who speaks really good English? Is that who Thad Greenson really is? Any maybe Josh Jackson is really a Mexican illegal named Pablo who will work 12-hour days for $5 a day under the table. If the source no longer matters, then our standards are no higher than those of anonymous bloggers...
you forgot hosesty, integrity, ethics, morals, intelligence, self-control, restraint, vigilance, and of course a willingness to work rediculous hours for crappy pay and endelss lambasting by local idiot columnists. Please, please, stop "teaching" reporting. As we saw with the ER, you are churning out hordes of total morons who think they know better than anyone else what journalism is.
Shows what you know. All the changes that were amde under Somerville were made by those staffers' shoices, not Rich's. He was a nightmare in the newswroom and was singlehandedly destroying the T-S from the inside. They were desperately looking for ways to get rid of him. His death was tragic but was, sorry to say, a positive event for the T-S newsroom. Marcy, you're an ignorant, even dangerous thinker.
Re: “Vincent Van Gogh Painting Stolen in Eureka”
Rachel Schlueter is a hard-working artist. To steal her painting is to steal a chunk of her creative life - the time and energy she invested in gaining her painterly skills, and developing her strikingly unique style. Not to mention the uncounted hours of her life spent creating this one painting. This painting is out there. If you see it on someone’s wall, help them do the right thing: give it back to Rachel, so she can sell it to someone willing to pay for it. More of Rachel’s works can be seen at the Sewell Gallery on F Street in Eureka…
