Tall Structures? In my early 20’s I was climbing a number of tall objects.. trees, bridges and high tension electrical towers. While atop one of these objects it occurred to me that there are some people who get paid to do such climbing. When I returned home, I looked up in the yellow pages “steeplejack” and found a listing for P&R Tower Company. I went to the address, introduced myself and asked for a job. None now, but call back.. After many months of calling I was accepted as a trainee. My new boss sent me to a tower in Walnut Grove, 1500 ft. tall. A very small elevator took 15 minutes to get to the top, inside a very small building! The Youtube video (link below) is what I experienced when I got out of the elevator.
I continued to work for 2 years for P&R Tower.
