Re: “Tax the Rich

Well written Doug! There's still lots of jobs for young adults in the public-pummeling industry-see the front page.

Re: “Where's Walmart?

Nobody held a gun to German citizens when they voted Hitler into power either. By all means, support the well-researched entity that destroys rural economies. I would call you an "idiot" except for a mainstream media that self-censors the research and the authors proving what Walmart actually accomplishes. Enjoy the growth in predator industries, while they last.

Re: “Where's Walmart?

No other company I know of has as many documentary movies, books and economic research illustrating exactly how it harms rural economies. And yet, there's always people begging for a shovel to dig their own graves! Even more inexplicable is how it has become a left-right political issue. It's size, centralization and behavior mirrors the legacy of every other human-inspired tyranny on Earth. Once they eliminate competition, their prices soar and everyone, but them, loses. Rural economies that took generations to develop are decimated in a decade before Walmart abandons another warehouse in search of new communities to harvest. They make a mockery of capitalism.

Re: “Walmart Watch

Walmart's success is a testament to the power of freedom. Given a choice, people will vote for centralized power, one-choice shopping, and the convenience of tyranny every time.

Re: “Really?

No, there's no Mr. Handsome pageants where 17 year old boys flex their muscles and demonstrate a talent. Go to HSU, check out the reams of women's literature and then the vacuous men's section. Superiority needs no research or fanfare over the superfluous. The "male mystique" remains fully protected and in charge in America and much of the rest of the world. The Ink People should be ashamed.

Re: “The Deep End

In a city that can't afford it's high school pool, or a street-sweeper? More "recreation" is a problem with 6 pristine rivers, miles of beaches, mountains, trails, and parks, to explore? HSU promised Eureka needed their new boating facility...but every time I look at the reservation book, it's nearly empty. Every measurable employment, economic, social, and biological indicator is in rapid decline, and still they offer bread and circuses. Thanks Peter!!!

Re: “How Does Your Garden Grow?

Thank God for the raw honesty on the Blogs, and for Daniel Furloins and my newly discovered respect for China's Cultural Revolution.
