Are you freaking kidding me?? The community let the Natural History Museum close, an extremely positive influence, and Tony Smithers actually suggest a "MJ museum?!!" Sounds like self-centered indulgence and greed instead of raising intelligent children and having a caring community. Here's another sane idea: cut down all the redwoods, poor "koolaid" (all the lovely pesticides used in marijuana productions) over the whole county and get ready to look like Iowa, only with pot plants instead of corn.

I left Arcata because of all the dirty, drugged out plazoids, the drug houses and the inability or reluctance by the city to do anything. There is a balance. You can't have a clean livable city without some controls. I applaud the city and police and hope that this is a path to cleaning up the area. It has nothing to do with Green Party, race activism or anything else (as per Rudi). it has to do with wanting to have a city that you can walk through without stepping on human feces, broken glass or being accosted by drugged-out people and assaulted by skunky pot everywhere on the streets and in the neighborhoods. I like to party but I am responsible, too.
