Upon reading the article of the Neeley Family, it is true that they, along with hundreds of families face the same issues each year in America. However, with that being said, whatever happened to making a deal and sticking to it? Whatever happened to standing up to your commitments and responsibilities - no matter what it takes - not just simply walking away from them? They stated that they weren’t able to pay a mortgage of $1500. per month, however they were able to go onto having and raising 3 children (with an average cost of over $200,000 to raise each child until their 18 years old,) but yet they couldn’t -or wouldn’t - pay a 30 year mortgage that was much less then that? Really?? And now to top it off, they are contemplating on filing Bankruptcy to get out of the $20,000 they owe?! Yet when corporations like SN Properties files for bankruptcy protection, in the court of public opinion, this is a criminal offense? Something doesn’t add up here.
