I had to walk away from my house two years ago when my payments went from a manageable $1,000 a month up to $1,600 a month. I wasn't able to sell. That house is still empty over two years later. So why wouldn't the bank just take my $1,000 a month? I drive by occasionally, see the faded foreclosure notices taped to the door and windows, and cry.
