Re: “MediCal Expansion May Bring Better Addiction Treatment to Humboldt

People who have Medicare as their primary insurance and Medical - Parnership - Beacon as secondary will receive no benefit from this plan. They will not be eligible for help.

Re: “How to Ditch Your Pills in Humboldt

WOW LINDA I am disappointed in you!!!! You went to the wrong place!!!. And now people will think this is true?!?!!? You can go to Open Door Clinic in Arcata at any time and there is a large green steel container a bear could not get into and you just drop your pills in that thing no questions asked. I have done it 4 times in the last 5 years with no issues what so ever.

Re: “Arcata Co-op Security Accused of Using Excessive Force

Dear Co-Op Board of Directors! I just read your response to what happened. Based on your letter I will close my account and never shop in your stores again. I will inform all my family and friends of the same. I want you to know, I have been a member for over 20 years, I have enjoyed my membership.

I do not condone theft. I believe that the thief should be arrested, and face a jury and jail time. HOWEVER, At NO time EVER should your estimated,180 pound or so male loss prevention officer be kneeling on a estimated, 125+ pound woman's neck. At no time would I ever want representatives of the CO op I am a proud member of to use violence on another human being. That is a act of desperation and poor management. If this officer is "professionally trained" and he saw this as his only option?, than he is very poorly trained.

Further....Are you really condoning your officers aggressive bullying and intimidation in a attempt to hide possible evidence of HIS crimes? Are you really condoning the attempted theft of a respected business owners camera who was documenting an assault? SHAME ON YOU!!! Attempting to to confiscate a camera from a witness is a very serious matter in its own right, and if true, he should be fired even for that alone.

I will no longer be shopping at the Co-op until I see that they have had a credible independent investigation of this incident and the current management of the co-op is retrained in loss prevention techniques that do not involve physical violence on women, or witness intimidation and power plays. Hold this "professional" security guard accountable, as appropriate given the findings of that investigation, and take steps to make sure nothing like this happens again.

Re: “Albuquerque or Auburn? Eureka City Council Considers Different Models to Address Panhandling

Where did this 3k thing come from? Look there are so many jobs the city and county could give to the poor to do. but there are also so many barriers to success. Saint Vincent De Paul has been helping people and feeding them lunch for 30 years. If the community would come together and help them fix their building they could do alot more to help the poor get work. This community is clueless how big this problem really is. How many people are just a breath away from homelessness.

Re: “Arkley Volunteers Balloon Track for Possible Homeless Camp. Seriously.

So they present this like its a new idea... This idea has been floating around for 13 years... so what makes this acceptable or believable, now, especially from that man.

Re: “Postcard Kings

I love post cards and belong to a international post card club. What a fun and interesting hobby it is! The club I belong to is http://postcrossing.com/. I have collected 300 cards from all over the world and mailed out 299 to countries big and very small. Is there a local club for postcrossing?
