I'm not going to say which one is correct but if you talk to older lifelong residents out there the vast majority of them say "bottom"
If you ask younger folks or newcomers they almost always say "bottoms"
I moved to arcata decades ago and was corrected many times by the old timers.
Even the old sign on the highway says "Arcata Bottom 4H"
Please let me know of a local store that sells reasonably priced american made clothing. I do buy Carhartts (american made) but it's a little hard to keep the kids in $45,00 jeans.
You know just regular stuff like t-shirts and undies.
And could you please let me know what local clothing store sells affordable clothes?
You know, just regular stuff.
Have you seen the toy department in Kmart or Target? Maybe you noticed that Safeway, Target and believe it or not Walgreen's CVS, and Rite Aid have pharmacies.
I asked the city directly. Walmart received no taxpayer money or tax breaks. the estimated cost of the improvements will be approx 4 million dollars. this will add to the assessed value of the property and the taxes paid to Humboldt County will go up.
Nice try though, Grace. Maybe if you repeat your statement a few hundred times it will become fact.
Walmart used quite a bit of local labor. The local plumbing company has had several trucks there per day for months. I don't think Safeway hired anyone local.
Mckinleyvillan stated that the bayshore mall was a "coastal marsh" it may have been in the 1800's but that was a major lumber mill for close to 100 years. Go on the HSU library photo archives and you will see that the Walmart site was industrial and ripped up in 1929.
Did they tell 'em to cough up the evidence?
