Until I read this article, I had no idea what Dan Johnson did for a living or how he made his money. I didn't even consider it. And I still don't care. The fact is, that as a member of the school board, he is held to an academic level of integrity. Plagiarism should not be condoned in an academic setting. Apologizing is fine, but Dan Johnson continues to imply that the entire episode is someone else's fault. Reminds of someone I once knew, whose idea of an apology was to say, "I'm sorry YOU have a problem with me." Show some respect for the students and the institution you are supposed to be serving, Mr. Johnson. A heartfelt apology, rather than one that was coerced, could have gone a long way in resolving this issue.
But the football team and cheerleaders are still funded, right? Because Lord knows it's more important to shake those pom poms than to educate students in the arts.
We've survived this long with the Arcata/Eureka Airport located somewhere near McKinleyville. Why bother changing it?
What about the fact that the code for the airport assigned by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is ACV? Will they change that too? What will that do to the air traffic controllers and all the computer systems that rely on the code?
Our hearts go out to the families and children.
DAMMIT! I MISSED CAKE?!?!?
Watch the sunset over the bay... walk hand in hand through Redwood (or Sequoia) park... take a ride on the Madaket... cuddle by the fireplace while the rain falls outside your windows... Too many ways to be romantic in this town to limit it to just one day. Happy Valentine's all.
Spammer with hiccups apparently...
