Outta sight! Sounds like you are a perfect mix of unbiased outsider (or newbie) and objective reporter. You've kept track of all those pesky facts, in an orderly and measured manner. You know, cops like to present a confident image, and with the increasing militarization of police and fire units in the post 911 Homeland Security arena, the people often find themselves policed by overbearing thugs. I laud your real reporting here, and welcome more of it.
Thanks for all the great reads.
Yes, a mess. But to make it more clear, the "OSU" references should be "SOU." Not Oregon State University, but Southern Oregon University. Started out right, but..
Ooh Donald! - "How can so many see Walmart coming to Eureka as such a critical and destructive issue?" I know. How could so very many people find Walmart destructive? Walmart includes Jesus in their ceremony; that's got to count as some sort of mitigation for their ruthless greed. Maybe they could have a Jesus greeter. Branding at its finest! I'll be there with a pitchfork at their crucifixion, I'll tell you what.
I had a Blues show on commercial radio, and Larry helped make it possible by advertising on the program, from Q-92 (now Big Red) to Star 104 (now KHUM) to ten years on KXGO. Now the Blues is not the most commercially viable entity, but Larry helped keep the niche jumpin' and I'll never forget. And good for Bandon, another standup guy. Viva!
John Nemeth plays harmonica; guitar would be a new wrinkle.
Right on, Mitch. There's a lot of mean spirits just itching to get out, as shown by the sadistic suggestions of retribution. And how convenient for a TeaBagger to check in with added ignorance. Talk about a package deal!
I love dogs so much it's embarrassing, but advocating even MORE cruelty is regressive. It's bad talk.
