How did Mr. Weeks ever reach the conclusion that the California ban on Horse Slaughter slowed down kill buyers best efforts at making a fortune off of equine misery? Maybe in Humboldt County, certainly not in the Central Valley of California where horses are currently selling for .40/lb and auctions are thriving. The Calif. ban on slaughter has small impact on the number of California horses being transported to die in Canada and Mexico.
Are these horses "culls" whose humane death provides some sort of "bottom line" ensuring the health of the horse industry?
