I was very close to him for at least 5 yrs. the thing we mainly had in common were our strong anti-violence and anti-gun stances. I moved to San Diego in 2006 and lost touch with him. his number was disconnected. I later found out he did the Casino Job. but even in that he used no weapons. the only weapon he needed was his mind. wish I could find him again, I'd like to apologize for scolding him in his darkest times. we had a huge amount of shows together. I mastered four of his albums, and provided a lighting experience for his shows. I also did some art for his projects when his main man, David had prior obligations. I miss him, he's a good man. just made a couple of bad choices. ;)
Oooh I hope he's bisexual!!!! I'm stretching my love hole just in case.
Verbena, a person who doesn't work or create jobs telling people who do work or create jobs how to do it.
SSI must be nice.
Appreciate you talking up the benefit and the Fair Wage Act, Andrew. There are a few mischaracterizations in the post, but the important thing I want to correct or make sure people know is this: When we have enough signatures to certify the Fair Wage Act petition, it will go to a vote of the people. The only way it would not go to a vote is if the City Council, upon certification, enacts the Fair Wage Act into law.
Nothing like a little fear to get people to hoard.
Are these dates right? This weekend is the 29th and 30th.....
Catch plenty of air in life, Elucy----but always wear your helmet of salvation...and a breastplate of faith. xo
The judges have spoken! Sometimes, a man makes the best Princess...
I would have to agree with this 1000%...I too have foretold the Year of the BerryPicker was going to be in 2012 sans speedo...things that make you go...bbbrrrr... :-)
Johnny certainly has the ... ehem...balls for it, whether or not he wears the speedo for proof! All hail the Princess!
This guy is amazing. I will absolutely be there.
The "Mischief Lab" is no longer a non-profit Dream Maker Project of the Ink People. It is a business front owned by Mark W. Switzer at 1041 F. Street in Arcata.
Please visit the newly formed group "Circus of the Elements(A Dream Maker Project of the Ink People)" on Facebook(http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/400580239955655/), composed of prior "Mischief Lab" performers and crew as well as new members! Risen from the ashes like a Phoenix!
Upcoming "Circus of the Elements" fire shows include "Fire Fusion 4/20" at the Mateel, "Humboldt Arts Festival" in Arcata and "The Humboldt Made Fair" in Eureka.
We are also heavily involved with local fundraisers such as the recent "Trinidad Skate Park Fundraiser" and the "The benefit for the McCabe family" at the Bayside Grange.

Thanks for the great article Tisha! Lovin' you Shaye!
Thanks Bob. One tweak: Dell'Arte is doing "Green Like Money" from Mary Jane: The Musical. Featuring Kev Bissell, editor of the Cutten Ear.
Beer has certainty changed. And we own a lot to the homebrewer for this. Many world class craft brewers got their start as homebrewers. And goodness are there a lot of great beers out there days beside the fizzy yellow stuff of the past.
Lorena - you're kidding, right? The Excalibur crew are the ones who started the Faire more than "several" years ago, and yeah, the sloughing off of the Coastal Grove faction was a bit 'tense'. And I would say that the tension persists, given that, a few days before the Excalibur faire, all the signs for it in Arcata were cut down by, shall we be delicate and say, 'persons unknown'.
I can tell this story is quite entertaining for the writer, however Coastal Grove's event held this next month is an annual event that has been held for several years. Our children get on stage and do their class performances and the crowd enjoys a variety of merriment provided by the classes and other vendors. This is not a rivalry and their is only peace and laughter. Neither are their past tensions w/ the medieval festival happening this weekend. Just thought I would clarify.
weed > beer
Actually the Troupe doesn't take corporate grants. Foundations, yes. Corporations, no.
Sorry about that last comment....I'm a jerk...
I have seen the Fire Arts Movement since it began in Humboldt and have been consistently amazed by the ever evolving level of competence and creativity. I have been living for the past 8 months in Sydney, Australia, and I can tell you that Humboldt is very lucky to have the caliber or fire artists that we have compared to such a large city as Sydney (4 million people). I loved going to the InferKNOW parties and it makes me sad that the county has presented them with such a difficult path to legitimacy as a real event. They came to the county to seek permits and instead of being given a go ahead, they were slapped with all sorts of requirements and really REALLY expensive fees. I commend Infernow for trying to navigate the red tape, but don't blame them at all for quitting. Humboldt County Board of Supervisors and the rest of its permitting agencies should have recognized the great value that this type of art has in our community and done whatever it could to create a cutting edge, safe, and artistic festival to bring talented fire artists together and put on one helluva show.
I would like to thank all the fire artist mentioned in this article, for I am very honored to know and love all of you. Thank you Tisha for bringing this to the attention of our community. I can't wait to come back to Humboldt and see some FIRE!
