Re: “Dogs Dosed By Junkie Poop? Naaaah. Well, Maybe.

My tenant's dog ate a marijuana brownie… She ran off and hid in the woods for 3 days… When she did come back she was a different animal, fearful and jumpy and she stayed that way for the rest of her life…

Re: “McKinleyville Man Facing 8 Life Sentences Granted Mistrial

I am a friend of Tim and sat through the whole trial with an open mind. I was prepared to possibly be persuaded that my friend was guilty of this crime. I hoped for the best and prepared for the worst. I now truly believe that Timothy is innocent and I am saddened that this young girl has been fed lies and put through this by her vengeful mother. Tim admitted to being a bad partner, but he is no child molester. I have many friends that were abused as children and I was a preschool teacher in the past. I care deeply about this subject and if I had a doubt after the trail about his innocence I would not continue to call him my dear friend.

Re: “A Running Start

Inmates can get some of the help and services they need (jobs?) to reduce recidivism, while Eureka further penalized homelessness to fill the empty jail cells.

Re: “Congressman Introduces Bill to Abort Essure

You can develop a nickel allergy after being implanted and chronically exposed to it. Additionally, nickel is a know carcinogen and having it implanted in your body for 30, 40 or 50 years is not safe. The PET contained in the inner coil is also a known carcinogen and is not biocompatible. When you develop a complication as a result of the implants, the only resolution is major surgery to have the coils removed. When you have complications with hormonal birth control or an IUD you can stop taking it or have it removed. That is not the case with Essure and that's why it should be taken off the market.

Excellent piece! Every business area should have a public restroom.

Re: “HSU Plans to Level the Trinity Annex

It doesn't fit with the goal of establishing a marijuana institute.

Re: “HSU Plans to Level the Trinity Annex

With students sleeping in professor's offices, and growing numbers of homeless men, women and children filling our public greenbelts, not one repairable building should be demolished. It should be re-purposed to address a national and local human disaster.

Hundreds of empathetic HSU students and long term Arcata residents would volunteer to immediately refurbish that building at low cost.

Re: “Funding Hunt Begins for McKinleyville Community Forest

I just looked at that map and it looks like the "low-density housing" (is that a term for large, expensive homes for the wealthy) is bordering on our neighborhood which is accessed by gravel roads. When people buy houses in this neighborhood they are told that forest will never be developed! What's going on here?!

Re: “Funding Hunt Begins for McKinleyville Community Forest

Same old, same old. Simpson...excuse me...Green Diamond logged the shit out of that area in recent years, creeks and wildlife be damned, and once again they're making it seem like they're doing everybody a favor by making everybody pay for it over that top "to protect it". And even still they've slated more forest for development. They'd never care to admit they're all about the money. They've turned our ancient redwood rainforests into half assed, fire prone fir plantations and act like it was both a big mistake and huge favor.

Re: “Move Over PG&E?

A municipal utility district is a better choice. This takes PG&E and the CPUC out of the loop. Municipal utility districts have 20% or more lower rates and can implement real energy efficiency programs.

Re: “The Ripple Effect

And another Hosebag illustrates how ignorance, bigotry and illiteracy are the qualifications for "treating human beings like refuse".

The Humboldt legacy continues?

We've heard it all before from the Hosebags that defended reservations, bantustans, strategic hamlets, ghettos, internment camps, security walls, and concentration camps.

Re: “Mobile Home Owners Rally over Rent

On 11/8 theconfiscators posted a link to the truth about MH rent control. I am sure that most folks in Humboldt are wise enough to know that anyone that wants to put something on the web can do it. Freedom of speech is a cornerstone of our democracy. But that means that fools and idiots can create a web page to express whatever interests them. The person that created that web page doesn't want anyone to know who he is because it was purchased through a proxy yesterday (11/7). AND that proxy is in Scottsdale, AZ. Even Mobilehome University advises their students to avoid southern states when considering a purchase. The captioned picture is the reason why.
Although that page can generate very emotional responses, beware that it is designed to do just that. Emotional responses interfere with ones ability to make a considered choice. Don't fall for the hype!

Re: “Congressman Introduces Bill to Abort Essure

Aren't those side effects caused by a nickel allergy? Are there no tests for nickel allergies prior to getting Essure installed? Perhaps instead of taking this viable birth control off the market completely, there should be required allergy tests for each patient.

Re: “Mobile Home Owners Rally over Rent

Seems to me that the 'theconfiscators' watches waaaay too much Faux Snooze. Seems to have lost grip on reality.
I do wonder if that poster lives in a Park of this nature. Doubtful or he/she would have a more clear perspective on what the heck is happening.
