I'd day that's grounds to boycott Bayshore Mall.
www.KnifeCountryUSA.com is a great webstore to buy a knife. I have always used them to purchase all my cutlery needs.
Long blades bad - short blades good - Hmm
Ah, the agenda of the Journal continues. No wonder it's free.
“In any case in which a person is arrested and released without trial or in which a person is arrested, tried, and acquitted, if such person is indigent and is released or acquitted at a place to which he has been transported...the arresting agency shall, at his request, return or provide for return of such person to the place of his arrest.”
In cases where an indigent person is guilty of a crime, serves their time, and is released, the county of Humboldt ensures that the punishment continues by releasing "rehabilitated" inmates into Eureka in the middle of the night without adequate funds or transportation.
Little wonder recidivism rates are so high.
dammit!!! just tell the people what they are entitled to........what is so hard about doing that?
i was hoping things had improved in Humboldt County but officials still sidestep the obvious issues and make life miserable for those caught in their web.
I had hoped for more from Mike Downey.

This story provides one good reason why nearly every elected and appointed office in Humboldt County is dominated by republicans and right-wing "democrats". That's the kind of money it takes to get rid of a developer lap-dog like Bass, Bohn, Sunderg and Fennell.
Or, they could use a portion of it to organize this county's first voter registration canvass.
It expensive to win elections when you don't trust potential voters enough to reach out to register them.
This is a tragedy, and I am surprised that drowning do happen more often along Humboldt's treaceherous coast. The North and South Jettys at the Humboldt Bay entrance are particularly hazardous. Slippery algae grows where people walk and waves frequently wash over the jettys. I came close to being washed off the North Jetty the first time I was there and did not know of the danger. I would like to see better signage warning people to not walk out there during high tide or high seas.
This is democracy/republic lower case!!!!Follow the money!!!!
Did we vote that law--do WE care???
