Cumberbatch is on record saying that he took aspects of his performance from Brett--it's in one of the commentaries on these DVDs.
It's Brett incidentally that added the scarf to the Sherlock character--something that Cumberbatch also adopts.
Cumberbatch's performance is inspired by canon Holmes; Jeremy Brett and Cumberbatch shared some similar gestures, because those are written in the books.
Right on, Bruce. Cherney is a megalomaniac who can't stay out of the limelight. It may prove his undoing after all these years because I don't think there is a statute of limitations for attempted murder. I think he should be tarred and feathered for his part in destroying the timber industry and Humboldt County in the process. Earth First helped to eliminate thousands of good paying jobs and put hard working families on welfare. Now look at what you've got.
An honest film about the Bari case was made in 1990 by Steve Talbot, lately of PBS’s Frontline series. Talbot’s film was also called 'Who Bombed Judi Bari.' But unlike the hagiographic epic described above, it was an honest inquiry into the event. Talbot subsequently appeared on Belva Davis’s KQED television show called This Week In Northern California where he said that Bari had told him that she was certain that her ex-husband had tried to kill her. What doesn’t seem to be widely known on the Northcoast is that Bari’s legal team tested for dna years ago prior to Cherney’s latest show biz go-round with the FBI. The results of that prior test, along with much other information on the case, is available at theava.com The Bari “mystery” is eminently solvable, a fact that Cherney and Co. have been well compensated in concealing. This film, in my opinion, is simply part of an ongoing attempt by Cherney et al to Not Find Out Who Bombed Judi Bari.
Just saw this in DC, ironically a block away from the FBI training center. Spoke to Cherney. Peeps were shocked at the film and what sure looks like malfeasance by law enforcement.
Everyone needs to see this. It's history they don't want you know about. And if you're 40 or younger, you never had a chance to.
Who bombed their car? A PL backed person probably...afterall it was PL's livliehood that was threatened by Bari/Cherney's organization.
What a shame they couldn't work "Thunder Road" in there!
