Ferndale Community Choir

What:

The Ferndale Community Choir will present a series of concerts beginning in December. Since 1970, under the direction of Betty Diehl, the choir showcases familiar carols such as The First Noel and Jesus Christ the Apple Tree in new settings. They will also perform new and exciting selections, including Snow Had Fallen: Christ Was Born and Throw Open Your Shutters! Bring your family and friends to add to your family’s Christmas traditions by enjoying a Christmas Celebration in Song - choral music at it’s most festive. The choir is accompanied by the talented pianist, Dana Christen, and Beverly Carlson will also conduct.

The spirit of the choir is fostered by its members who bring a wide range of occupations and interests to their joy of singing. Singers and musicians of all ages come from McKinleyville, Eureka, Hydesville, Arcata, and Fortuna to join Ferndalers for twelve weeks of rehearsals to learn and polish challenging music.

The Ferndale Community Choir will offer the first performance of the Christmas Concert at the Ferndale Community Church, 712 Main St., Ferndale on Saturday, December 4th at 8:00 pm. A reception will follow the performance.

The second performance will be sung on Sunday, December 5th at 3:00 pm at Church of the Assumption at 546 Berding Street in Ferndale. Concert-goers often continue to enjoy Ferndale’s hospitality at the community’s annual Lighting of America’s Tallest Living Christmas Tree at the foot of Main Street at 5:30 p m.
