Ferndale Community Choir

What:

The Ferndale Community Choir will present its 41st annual Spring Celebration in Song in three concerts beginning on Easter Sunday at 8:00 pm. With more than 60 singers and instrumentalists, the choir will present an eclectic selection of music ranging from “Ave Verum” written in the 14th century to “Calling My Children Home” with its roots in the bluegrass tradition. The broad range of sacred music is centered around themes of hope and renewal to usher in the season with both contemplation and celebration.

The choir, under the direction of Betty Diehl, reflects a great diversity of ages, occupations, and interests with members traveling from McKinleyville to Hydesville and points between for rehearsals in Ferndale. The accomplished Sharon Welton accompanies the choir at the piano, and Beverly Carlson will also direct. Featured in the concert are instrumentalists Pat Person on oboe, and Susan Crichton and Susan Diehl McCarthy on bells

The Ferndale Community Choir will present its first performance at the Church of the Assumption on Berding Street in Ferndale on Easter Sunday, April 24th at 8:00 pm.

The second performance will be ona Friday this year instead of the usual Saturday –Friday, April 29th at 8:00 pm at Calvary Lutheran Church on the corner of South and Prospect in Eureka.

The final performance will be given in the afternoon on Sunday, May 1st at 3:00 pm at the Ferndale Community Church at 712 Main Street in Ferndale.

There is no admission charge, and all are invited to the concerts.
