Yard Dogs Road Show

What:

On Tuesday, June 23, the Mateel Community Center will host a vaudevillian extravaganza with the one and only Yard Dogs Road Show.  Billing themselves as a hobo cabaret, they present a living patchwork of vaudeville and rock and roll with plenty of carnival shenanigans thrown in.  On stage you’ll experience sword swallowers, dancing dolls, fire eaters, hobo poetry, and the live sounds of the Yard Dogs band for a show that is pure visual and sonic voodoo.

Doors open at 8pm with performances by Sunshine and Ildeko of Lakshmi’s Daughters, Fire & Isis Dance Collective, and more.  Also, just added to the bill, is the iconic performer, Baby Gramps, a true original who is an amalgamation of bluesman, storyteller, and Popeye.

This is an all-ages show with snack foods, desserts, and refreshments benefiting Thoya Oya Children’s Charitable Foundation.  Beer and wine supports MCC.  Tickets are on sale now at the usual local outlets and online at www.inticketing.com for a price of $25 advance.  MCC members receive a $3 break.  Admission at the door is $28 if available.  Advance tickets are encouraged.  For more information call 923-3368 or visit www.mateel.org and don’t miss the Mateel return of Yard Dogs Road Show on Tuesday, June 23rd.
