What:
Kicking off our community’s holiday festive events, Woodside Preschool presents its 37th annual Wine and Ale Tasting Gala. This event will take place on Saturday, November 6th at the Adorni Center at 1011 Waterfront Dr. in Eureka from 4-7pm. All proceeds will support the non-profit, parent co-op preschool (license # 12371567.)
Come make the Gala a part of your Arts Alive! night out. Currently we have 8 wineries and a brewery that will be pouring, including Alpen Cellars, Carter Cellars/Envy Wines, Lost Coast Vineyards, Naughty Boy Vineyards, Ono Wines, Riverbend Cellars, Sentinel Winery, Winnett Vineyards, Lost Coast Brewery, and Eel River Brewery, with more to come. Also provided will be delicious finger foods and products prepared from local food vendors, including The Looking Glass House and Henry’s Olives. A large selection of fine chocolates to sample will round out this special event, which will be festively decorated by flowers from Blossoms Florist in Myrtletown, Eureka.
Along with food and drink, there will be a silent auction, Dutch lottery and door prizes with several donated items from local businesses to keep the evening lively. Musical entertainment will be provided by local group Kara’s Lusca.
Tickets are $25 presale and $30 at the door of the event. Call 445-9132 for tickets or purchase at the Gala. This is a 21 and over only event.
Woodside Preschool is a non-profit, parent cooperative preschool. Woodside is the oldest preschool operating in Eureka and is staffed by a credentialed teacher/director and supported by dedicated parents. The preschool is fully accredited by the State of California and organized as a Nonprofit and Parent Cooperative Corporation, having an elected Board of Directors composed of parents who are responsible for the school’s operation. Parents work together to run the school, assisting in the classroom and helping to maintain the facilities. This approach fosters a community within the school and gives children their first bridge between home and school.
The preschool provides a safe place to play and learn to prepare for kindergarten. The school is very proud of their adult/child ratio of 1:5, not usually found in other school settings. This allows for more opportunities for problem-solving and one-on-one interactions. Hours of operation are from 9 am to 12 pm, Monday through Friday. Enrollment information can be obtained by calling 445-9132.
