Wine, Cheese and Chocolate: A Taste for Kids’ Sake

What:

12th Annual Wine, Cheese and Chocolate: A Taste for Kids Sake, Friday October 1st from 5:30 – 8:30, at Eureka’s Adorni Center.  This year NCBBBS along with the Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) are working together with the North Coast Co-op to produce Humboldt County’s first ever local Wine, Cheese and Chocolate event.  This will be a culminating affair for the CAFF sponsored Local Food Month and the Co-op sponsored Eat Local Challenge.

North Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters has always “gone green” when it comes to this annual event, through the use of reusable glasses, napkins made with recycled materials and tapas-like finger foods that don’t require disposable utensils.  Partnering with CAFF made sense so that the organization could take the next step and honor local businesses, farmers and vintners with an event that truly showcases the tastes of Humboldt County and Northern California.

This year will feature exquisite fare from local businesses, farmers and vintners from the tri-county area. A mini classroom will provide information for the novice to learn more about the distinct wines and cheeses that our local area has to offer.  Music and dancing will provide a fun, easy-going and entertaining backdrop for this event.  As always there will be silent and Dutch auctions to add to the fundraiser.  Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and are available during select Local Food Month events, the Arcata Farmers Market on the Plaza, the North Coast Co-op stores in Arcata and Eureka, Art of Wine, Libations and The Works at both Arcata and Eureka stores.

So, join us this year for Wine, Cheese and Chocolate: A Taste for Kids’ Sake and “eat local with elegance.”  See you there!
