Updating or creating wills and trusts will be the topic of a seminar to be held at historic Fern Cottage on Satuday, March 27. It will be led by attoeney James D. Poovey, who is certified by the Board of Legal Specializiation of the California Bar as a specialist in the field. “The theme of the seminar will be ‘What You need to Know in These Uncertain Times’,’’ he says.
The seminar will begin at 2 p.m., with doors opening at 1 p.m. for guests who want to visit the rooms of the 144-year-old home of pioneers Joseph and Zipporah Russ and their large family.
Refreshments will be served.
Tickets for the event are $15 per person. Reservations are required as space is limited, according to Irene Harville Hannaford, who is in charge of the Fern Cottage Tours and Events program. Call 444-8559 for tickets or information. Fern Cottage is at 2121 Centerville Road, three miles west of downtown Ferndale. It is operated by the non-profit Fern Cottage Foundation. Proceeds from this and its other specail events throughout the year go toward maintaining the house and its gardens.
