Lions White Cane fund raising began worldwide in 1951 and McKinleyville Lions Club, an all volunteer organization, has made this an annual event since being chartered in 1962. McKinleyville Lions will be at Big Kmart, Safeway and Ray’s Food Place in McKinleyville on October 3rd and 4th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. We will also be at Big Kmart and Ray’s Food Place on October 5th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. All White Cane contributions are used solely to assist residents in the McKinleyville, Arcata, Fieldbrook and Blue Lake area who would otherwise be unable to receive much needed care to protect their vision. Look for us in our gold vests with our “White Canes” on October 3rd, 4th and 5th at Big Kmart, Safeway and Ray’s Food Place in McKinleyville.
