‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Sat., Dec 10 at 6 pm and Sun., Dec 11 at 2 pm. Van Duzer Theater, HSU. This delightful holiday ballet returns to JVD for the fifth year with two performances. Danced by and for children of all ages and adults, it is presented by Trillium Dance Studios (the new name for Dance Class with Erin Fernandez). This year’s production will add new characters and choreography by artistic director Erin Fernandez McKeever. The ballet is inspired by Clement C. Moore’s classic poem and narrated by Kevin Sharkey.
Last year’s soloists will return with Lindsay Bond dancing in a new role, Jack-In-The-Box; Julie Ryman-Hayes, joined by Ozzy Ricardez in Cider and Spice, will again be dancing the role of Ballerina Doll with Kyle Ryan dancing the role of Pirate King, Islay Dillon-Ogden dances the role of Gingersnap, They join a cast of more than 200 dancers, ranging in age from 4 years to adults, to tell us a magical Christmas Eve tale of adventure as the toys under the tree come to life. Pirates, and elves, and bears, oh, no! And of course, Santa, too.
