In 1994, Vinnie Peloso asked if anyone would like to form a poetry group at an open mic event. Ruth Mountaingrove was interested and Pat McCutcheon joined them later. They have been together ever since - meeting, writing, reviewing and reading.
Ruth Mountaingrove has been writing poetry since she was eighteen.  The author of two volumes of verse, Rhythms of Spring and For Those Who Cannot Sleep, she has read at many open mics and more formal venues.  In 1996, she won both the Ink People’s Poetry Jam and their subsequent Poetry Slam.  Most recently, she has read at Mosgo’s in Arcata.
Pat McCutcheon is an undercover poet, masquerading for many years as an English professor at College of the Redwoods where guiding her students toward discovering their own voices has been her greatest reward.  She is, however, most herself when writing.  She has published a chapbook, Recovering Perfectionist, and currently has a full-length poetry manuscript under consideration.
Vincent Peloso hosted the Mad River Anthology, KHSU’s twice-monthly poetry program, for fourteen years before handing it off to Tim Ayers and Brent Jenkins earlier this year.  He was a 1999 California Poets and Writers’ Writer-in- Residence at the Ink People and a Nation/Discovery Award finalist also in that year.  His work has appeared in many small press journals and magazines.
