As part of the Fall 2009 Sustainable Futures Speaker Series, Riki Ott, Phd, will speak about "The Impacts of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill on Ecology and Community." Ott is a community activist, former commercial salmon "fisherm'am," and has a degree in marine toxicology with a specialty in oil pollution. She offers thought-provoking remedies for the climate crisis, the economic crisis, and the democracy crisis by building sustainable communities and separating corporation and state. The event will take place in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Building, Room 166, on the HSU campus.
