Open Door Community Health Centers is pleased to present a free workshop, Ten Things Every Parent Needs to Know About Learning Disabilities, an evening with Dr. Deborah Waber, on Friday, October 15th from 7 to 9 pm.
Dr. Waber, an Associate Professor of Psychology at the Harvard School of Medicine, will focus on the concerns of parents and what other experts may not tell you. Dr. Waber believes that a good clinical assessment is not about finding a diagnosis, it is about understanding the child. There will be time for questions and discussion following her presentation.
Professionals and students pursuing degrees in education, nursing, psychology and social work are invited.
Hosted by local pediatricians Dr. Norman Bell and Dr. Ted Humphry, this free workshop will be held at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, 921 Waterfront Drive, next to the Adorni Center, in Eureka.
