The Eureka Theatre, Lost Coast Brewery, Eel River Brewing Company, 6 Rivers Brewery and Mad River Brewing Company are hosting the first ever strange brew contest! Barbara Groom of Lost Coast Brewery came up with the idea for Strange Brew about 3 years ago as a fund raising idea for the Eureka Theatre. 3 years later it is happening. All the beer is donated by the breweries. The 4 major breweries create a secret strange brew, the movie Strange Brew is shown, and all is accompanied by the Accordionaires! There is a best strange brew contest and a best movie-themed costume contest. Winners receive very special event-themed prizes.

Tickets are $25.00 and include all the beer, one hearty movie-themed entree, the movie, shown in hoserama, and 2 votes! And, the first 300 ticket holders in line at the theatre on October 25, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. receive a free commemorative pint glass emblazoned with the event logo! All proceeds from this event go to the Eureka Theatre's restoration project, specifically 3 sets of new fire exit doors.
