Stones in His Pockets

What:

Redwood Curtain is thrilled to present the hilarious Stones in his Pockets, by Marie Jones, winner of the Olivier Award for Best Comedy. Set in a rural town in County Kerry, Ireland, this dark yet delightful comedy follows the story of Jake and Charlie, two local fellows hired as extras when a Hollywood entourage descends on the town to make a movie. Directed by RC Executive Director Peggy Metzger, it features local veteran actors James Hitchcock and Gary Sommers.

“On top of being a great story about these outrageous Hollywood types interacting with local Irish folk, this play is a real theatrical event,” said Artistic Director Clint Rebik. “The two actors that play Jake and Charlie also play 6 or 7 roles each. It’s thrilling to watch.”

“These two guys are working hard,” laughed Director Metzger. “They switch from one character to the next with lightning speed, and incredible agility. They are both amazing to watch.” The two actors play a cross-section of characters, from the stuffy British director to the flighty American star and her entourage, from the local boys enticed by the American Dream, to the local geezer who is the oldest surviving extra from The Quiet Man.

Stones in his Pockets debuted in Belfast in 1999, and went on to be a long-running hit in both London and New York.

Stones in his Pockets previews on Friday November 6th with $10 tickets, and opening night with Gala reception is Saturday, November 7th , with tickets at $15.

Performances continue Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights through November 21. Cheap date Thursdays on November 12 and 19: two tickets for $20. Ticket price on Friday and Saturday (except Gala) nights is $13.

Note: Curtain time on Friday, November 13th is 7:00 pm. Curtain is promptly at 8:00 for all other evening performances.
