What:
The Redwood Coast Energy Authority and the Humboldt Bay Center for Sustainable Living are excited to present the third workshop of the Humboldt Energy Independence Workshop series entitled “Understanding Solar PV”. This free workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 26th, at 6:45 PM at the Redwood Coast Energy Resource Center, 517 5th Street, in Eureka (between F&G).
The workshop will be presented by Nate McKeever of McKeever Energy & Electric. He will be presenting on the fundamentals of solar energy technology, the process of selecting and installing a solar photovoltaic system, and what to expect in terms of maintenance. In addition, Nate will cover how to afford a solar system, including information on rebates, incentives, and the basics of a grid-tied connection.
The presentation will be helpful for homeowners, business owners, and anyone interested in learning more about solar power in Humboldt County. A question and answer period will follow.
Nate McKeever is a State of California licensed electrical contractor, and is the owner of McKeever Energy & Electric. He is a Home Energy Efficiency rater (HERS) as well as a licensed Certified Energy Plans Examiner (CEPE). Visit www.McKeeverEnergyandElectric.com for more information.
Space at this free workshop is limited, and pre-registration is required. To reserve your space, please call RCEA workshop coordinator Oliver Hulland at (707) 269-1700.
The Humboldt Energy Independence Workshop Series is dedicated to ensuring long-term energy sustainability in Humboldt County through educating the public about changes that they can make at home or at their business.
This workshop is co-sponsored by the educational arm of the Humboldt Bay Center for Sustainable Living (HBCSL). HBCSL is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to explore and demonstrate, through experiential living, a wide range of sustainable and ecologically sound technologies and ways of life. Its principal project is the development of the Humboldt Bay Eco-Hostel.
RCEA is a Joint Powers Authority, representing seven municipalities (the Cities of Arcata, Blue Lake, Eureka, Ferndale, Fortuna, Trinidad and Rio Dell), the County of Humboldt , and the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District. RCEA’s purpose is to develop and implement sustainable energy initiatives that reduce energy demand, increase energy efficiency, and advance the use of clean, efficient and renewable resources available in the region.
This workshop is funded in part by California ratepayers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
