Sing in Swing

What:

Multi-million selling hits and Grammy Awards not withstanding, the combined talents and career histories of Diane Schuur and Bobby Caldwell are massive each in their own way. Combining these two vocalists in a big band presentation revisits the Swing Era and recalls the material that was made popular by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and other greats of that era. The sound of big band arrangement is unlikely any other on stage – and in an intimate space with superior acoustics like the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts, it’s sensational.

Both artists have enjoyed significant success in the Big Band format at some point of their individual three decade careers – “Deedles,” Diane Schuur, won her second Grammy award when she made a startlingly fresh album with the Count Basie Orchestra. Meanwhile, Bobby Caldwell has been performing a classic set of Nelson riddle’s arrangements written for Sinatra and wowing his audience with his soulful touch.
