The Humboldt Community Breast Health Project's (HCBHP) fall benefit concert takes place Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts. It is a great program with Brad Curtis, Elisabeth Harrington, Annette Gurnee Hull, Dr. Luther Cobb, and Darius Brotman. Tickets can be purchased by calling or going to: the Breast Project office in Arcata; the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts; or the office of Drs. Luther Cobb and Ellen Mahoney.

Dr. Luther Cobb performs pieces by Rachmaninov.  Baritone Brad Curtis performs pieces ranging from the Samuel Barber song “Sure on This Shining Night” to a Sinatra medley with soprano Elisabeth Harrington.  Harrington, on the HSU Music Department faculty, performs a varied selection of songs, both solo and in duets with Curtis.  The singers are accompanied by Annette Gurnee Hull and Darius Brotman.

Concert guests may also participate in a raffle, for which the major prize is a large original painting donated by local artist Richard Duning.  There is also be an opportunity to remember a loved one or honor a survivor or supporter of breast or gynecologic cancer by placing a ribbon on a tree in the foyer.

A high end dessert and wine reception follows with some of our finest local wines donated by Behrens and Hitchcock Winery, Robert Goodman Wines, Elk Prairie Vineyard, Fieldbrook Valley Winery, Moonstone Crossing Wines, Vinatura Winery, and Winnett Vineyards.

All proceeds go to HCBHP, which provides support, information and hope to those with breast or gynecologic cancer or breast health concerns.
