North Coast Parents will be sponsoring park time and a seed exchange at Sequoia Park in Eureka on Saturday, February 27 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Bring your young children to the park for some play time and bring your extra seeds and/or plants from previous years’ gardens to exchange, if you wish. We can talk about what people liked and didn’t like in regards to the types of plants they used and general garden chit-chat.
Sponsoring the park time and seed exchange is North Coast Parents (NCP), a local grassroots organization that was created 20 years ago to serve as a support group for parents of babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children. NCP offers activities, small play groups, field trips, and meetings in safe, nurturing environments that provide socialization for young children and their parents. Also offered is a babysitting co-op, parents’ night out events and meals to new parents. A monthly newsletter listing activities, parent education classes, recipes and health topics is sent to members. Annual membership is $35 and scholarships are available.
